FAQ
Q. DOES VOLUNTEERING REQUIRE A BIG COMMITMENT OR A LOT OF TIME?
A. No. You can volunteer based on your schedule. You can help write Get Out The Vote postcards, sign up for phone banking, where we call registered Democrats to remind them to vote, or join others in door-to-door canvasing to encourage voting. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people and to make a difference in our democratic government.
Q. Do you get together socially?
A. Yes. Currently, we meet monthly on the 3rd Thursday of the month at The Hoboken Biergarten. This social Hang Out brings Hoboken Dems, their friends, and neighbors together to get to know one another and learn about what events are happening that people may want to get involved in. You and your friends are welcome to come to one of our events. Just email us at HobokenDemocraticParty@gmail.com to verify the date, time, and location, as all are subject to change.
Q. Do you have a newsletter?
A. No. Instead we send emails to keep members in the loop about activities, events and important news. If you’d like to get on our mailing list, just email HobokenDemocraticParty@gmail.com.
Q. Do the Hoboken dems partner with other organizations?
A. Yes. We share what other activist groups are doing, such as Hoboken Resist, Uniting for Democracy, NJ Knitty Gritty, North Hudson Resistance, Swing Left/Ground Truth, MoveOn, Indivisible, and others because many of our members belong to more than one group.
Q. how can I learn more?
A. Just email us at HobokenDemocraticParty@gmail.com and we’ll be happy to answer your questions.
